Tabaka DEB Primary School

$4,000.00
sold out

This is a large public primary day school of 741 students, ages 4-15 years. The children in this school had one small water tank and gutter system that was not enough for the number of children they had, requiring the students to bring their own 5L water containers from home, collecting very early and walking up to sometimes 3km (1-2miles) to the school. There is no other bore hole or collection access on site. In 2022, Sweetwater Outreach was able to install a 5,000-L tank and gutter system. The teachers currently use water guard that they purchase to place into the tank, from which students can then take and drink. This is not always a sustainable solution as it can be very expensive for the schools and they cannot always guarantee it is available.
